We are more than just an organization— we are a family bound by culture, compassion, and community spirit. Together, we celebrate our Filipino heritage, support one another, and make a positive impact in Kingston and beyond.
Because at Mabuhay, “It’s where the heart is.”
Mabuhay is where the heart is! Guided by faith, we preserve our heritage and culture, prioritizing family, charitable services, and warm hospitality.
To organize cultural and welcoming events, or community gatherings. Develop a family-focused programs and to establish outreach programs with local organizations. Incorporate faith-based principles and values, sharing mission with stakeholders and the community to ensure everyone is aligned and working towards achieving the same goals.
Mabuhay was founded in August 2003 by a group of passionate and loving individuals who were among the first Filipino immigrants to settle in Kingston. Driven by a shared desire to create a sense of community and belonging, they came together to establish a non-profit organization that would provide a welcoming space for newcomers.
Since its inception, Mabuhay has remained committed to its mission of supporting and empowering Filipino immigrants in Kingston, providing a home away from home, and fostering a sense of community through various activities and initiatives.
LOGO AND BANNER CREATOR
Mr. Chito Alvarez played a pivotal role in designing our iconic logo, while Ms. Louie Robles created the banner that set the visual tone for our community. As Mabuhay Fil-Can Inc. continues to evolve, the logo was further enhanced by Fil Caballes, giving it a more modern and refined look.
AS AN INCORPORATION
As Mabuhay Fil-Can Inc. continues to grow and serve the community, we remain deeply rooted in the legacy of our founders. Formerly known as the Mabuhay Pilipino-Canadian Association of Kingston, our organization’s evolution into an incorporated entity marks a new chapter—one that reflects our ongoing commitment to unity, cultural pride, and community service.
While our logo remains true to its original form, it has been refined to incorporate a modern concept—a refreshed visual identity that symbolizes progress, inclusivity, and the vibrant Filipino-Canadian spirit. This evolution represents not a departure from our past, but a thoughtful continuation of it—honoring our roots while embracing the future.
Our team is composed of dedicated and passionate individuals who share a common goal — to make a positive impact in the community. From our volunteers to our board members, everyone at Mabuhay Fil-Can Inc. is united by our mission and commitment to serving others.
We are a diverse group of professionals representing various fields and areas of expertise, bringing together unique perspectives and skills to strengthen our organization. Our leadership includes 13 Board of Directors, 3 Executive Officers, and 6 Youth Ambassadors, all working collaboratively to uphold our values, advance our initiatives, and inspire the next generation of Filipino-Canadians.
